V8SC ITM Auckland 500 – AHR Report

For myself and the whole team at Super Black Racing, the ITM Auckland 500 was a welcome home coming. Approaching a home round is always a double edged sword of sorts with more pressure to perform, but more support at the same time.  Being able to spend time with friends and family is great, as is the home crowd cheering for you. At the same time, the added media and sponsor commitments certainly deplete the energy, so it probably evens out overall, but it was still great to be back home and racing on home soil. Having four New Zealanders in the V8 Supercar series is something NZ should be proud...

V8SC Gold Coast 600 – AHR Report

I arrived early to do the Sunday driver's parade through the city centre the weekend before. Spent a couple of days training and relaxing with the other drivers until Wednesday when the team arrived and we set up. The GC circuit is created from roads in the centre of the city. It is basically triangular in shape with 15 corners and is run counterclockwise. This 2.9Km circuit comprises a hair pin, two 90 degree turns and a high speed straight. Many corners being blind it requires nerves of steel and blind faith to drive at speed. It is particularly technical with plenty of potential for damage....
