The 22-year-old Kiwi says it is a case of ‘onwards and upwards’ to the OTR SuperSprint – which will be held at the new Adelaide facility across August 25 and 26 – for him and his #7 Plus Fitness Nissan Motorsport Altima.
“Sydney did not go to plan, we had electrical issues practice on Friday night which hampered our preparations for the race. We qualified 17th on Saturday and had early damage in the race which saw me forced into the garage for repairs,” Heimgartner explained.
“That time off-track saw me lose a number of laps which couldn’t be recovered across the race, it was very disappointing but unfortunately there isn’t a lot that can be done about that.
“So for me, I am putting this one behind me and looking firmly ahead to Tailem Bend – the track looks amazing and I can’t wait to see what we can do there.
“While Sydney did not pan out for us, the concept was something I really enjoyed and the fans seemed to love it, so hopefully we can do it all again next year and have a better result!”
